A Night of Introductions, Opportunities and What’s Coming Next
Last night, the Naperville Business Network returned to Empire Burgers & Brews in downtown Naperville for another incredible evening of networking.
We welcomed 70 professionals to the rooftop, and September gave us the perfect night to be outside. The rooftop was open, the weather was beautiful, and people spent the evening moving around the room, meeting someone new, reconnecting with familiar faces, and building relationships.
But what we enjoyed most was having the opportunity to make introductions ourselves.
Making the Right Introductions
Throughout the night, we connected attendees with people we thought they should know based on their businesses, industries, needs, and potential referral relationships.
For us, that’s one of the best parts of hosting these events.
When someone tells us who they’re hoping to meet, we immediately start thinking about the people in the room and within our larger network who might be a good connection.
Sometimes that introduction leads to a new client. Other times it’s a referral partner, business resource, collaboration, or friendship.
We don’t simply want people to attend an event. We want them to leave knowing people they didn’t know when they arrived.

Wait… You’re Already Asking About the Holiday Party?
One of the biggest surprises of the night had nothing to do with September.
Multiple people came up to us asking:
“When is the holiday party?”
We haven’t even started promoting it yet!
The fact that people are already asking about an event that’s still months away means a lot to us. It tells us that people aren’t simply coming to one networking event and moving on. They’re becoming part of the community and looking forward to what’s next.
And yes, the holiday party is coming. We’ll be sharing details soon!
Power Partner Referral Groups Are Expanding
We also shared what’s next for another part of the Windy City Business Network.
Our new Power Partner Referral Group has launched in Oak Brook, with its second meeting taking place September 28.
These smaller, focused groups are designed for experienced professionals who want to build deeper relationships, develop strategic referral partnerships, and actively help one another grow.
As soon as we talked about Oak Brook, people started asking:
“Are you going to start one in Naperville?”
The answer is YES!
We’re working on the Naperville Power Partner Referral Group, and more details will be coming soon.
It’s About Who You Can Help
As we looked around the rooftop last night, we saw 70 professionals talking, introducing one another, sharing resources, and discovering ways they could potentially work together.
That’s the kind of networking community we want to continue building.
Of course, everyone comes to networking hoping to grow their business. But some of the strongest relationships begin when you stop asking only “Who can help me?” and start asking “Who can I help?”
That’s when networking becomes something much more valuable than exchanging business cards.
